Use the Play listing linked from the app page. Play handles installation and updates for that copy.

F-Droid

Use the F-Droid listing linked from the app page. F-Droid verifies and publishes releases on its own schedule.

GitHub provides source, tags, release notes, and issue history rather than managed app updates.

Changing stores

Switch between Play and F-Droid

Fossify uses the same package name and signing key on Google Play and F-Droid. You can change stores without uninstalling when the destination offers the same or a newer version.

  • Check that the destination release is the same or newer.
  • Use the destination store link from the app page.
  • Install that store's release over the existing app.
  • Back up or export app data when the app provides that option.
  • Include the install source when reporting an update problem.
